Solana trading glossary

What does smart money mean in crypto?

Also called: Smart wallets, Smart traders

Wallets with a record of profitable trades that other traders watch, and sometimes copy, as a signal.

Because every Solana trade is public, anyone can rank wallets by past profit. Tools label the best-performing ones as smart money, and traders watch what they buy. Some platforms let you copy their trades automatically.

The label is backward-looking. A wallet may have been lucky, may be an insider on the tokens that made its record, or may know it is being watched and trade on that. Buying after a smart wallet buys also means buying at a higher price, from the same wallet that may be about to sell to you.

Why it matters before you trade

Smart-money buys are a reason to look at a token, not a reason to buy it. The token still needs to pass the same checks: contract, liquidity and holders.

NAVI does not rank or label smart-money wallets and does not offer copy trading. It focuses on the token: its risk score, contract checks and who holds it. The whale tracking guide explains how to read large-wallet activity, and the bubble map shows the largest holders of any token.
