NAVI

NAVI vs Photon

Last updated

Photon is a fast non-custodial Solana terminal built for discovery and sniping. NAVI checks a token's risk before you swap. What each does and when to use which.

Which is better, NAVI or Photon?

It depends on what you need. The best fit for each use:

  • Photon: traders who want to find and trade new Solana tokens as fast as possible
  • NAVI: traders who want to judge a token's risk and holders before they swap
  • Both: scout and snipe on Photon, vet anything you plan to hold on NAVI

As of 20 October 2026.

An honest comparison, as of October 2026. Photon and NAVI are both non-custodial Solana terminals, but they are built for different moments: Photon to move fast on a token, NAVI to judge it first.

The short answer

Photon is a Solana web terminal built around speed. Its own pitch is to snipe and sell tokens at lightning speed, and it is organised into three parts: discover new tokens with filters, monitor security and your portfolio in real time, and buy or sell quickly. You connect a wallet to trade and there is no separate account step, so it is non-custodial.

NAVI is a Solana research app that also lets you swap. It is built around checking a token first: a rug check with six contract and liquidity checks, a risk score from price history, a holder bubble map, a lifecycle stage, an AI read and alerts. The swap sits on the same page, routed through the best venue NAVI finds across Jupiter, Raydium, Orca and Meteora, with the rug check in view before you confirm. If you want the fastest path to a trade, Photon is the better tool. If you want to judge a token before you buy, NAVI is.

Where Photon is stronger

Speed and sniping. Photon is designed to get you into and out of a new token quickly, with discovery filters to surface launches and a quick buy and sell flow. NAVI has no sniping and does not trade for you; you check a token, then sign each swap yourself.

Monitoring in one place. Photon's Monitor view tracks security and your portfolio in real time while you trade, which suits a trader who is actively working a position rather than vetting one before entry.

Where NAVI is stronger

The decision before the trade. NAVI gives each contract check a pass, warning or fail with a sentence on what it means, a separate market risk score from the token's price history, and an explanation for issuer tokens such as USDC or xStocks whose authorities are live by design. The bubble map groups a token's largest wallets by transfers and shared funding and marks bundles, so you can see whether the supply is really spread out.

Staying out of a bad trade. With a free NAVI account you get an alert in the app, by browser notification or on Telegram when a token you watch is raised to High risk, as well as price alerts. On NAVI, high-risk tokens can only be swapped against SOL or USDC. A speed-first terminal is not designed to talk you out of a trade; NAVI is.

Fees and execution

NAVI takes a swap fee of 0.25%, or 0.20% on Pro, shown in the quote details before you confirm, and routes the trade through the best route it finds across Jupiter, Raydium, Orca and Meteora. It is the same kind of per-swap fee every terminal charges, and it comes with the rug check and risk score shown in the same place you swap.

Photon charges its own per-trade fee. It is not published on the site we checked, so check Photon for its current terms. Both platforms are non-custodial: you connect a wallet and keep control of your keys and every transaction.

When to use which

Use Photon when the job is speed: finding a new Solana token and trading it before the move is gone.

Use NAVI when the job is judgement: checking a token's contract, holders and risk, being warned if it gets riskier after you buy, and swapping from the same page once you are comfortable. Many traders will use both, scouting on Photon and vetting anything they plan to hold on NAVI.

Pros

  • Photon: fast discovery and sniping built for speed on new Solana tokens
  • Photon: real-time security and portfolio monitoring in one terminal
  • NAVI: a rug check, market risk score and holder map before you swap
  • NAVI: alerts when a token you watch rises to High risk

Cons

  • NAVI: no sniping or automation, and swaps are slower than a speed-first terminal
  • NAVI: charges a 0.25% swap fee (0.20% on Pro) on each swap, the standard kind terminals charge
  • Photon: lighter on explained, pre-trade risk context than a research-first tool

Who it's for

  • Photon: traders who want to find and trade new Solana tokens as fast as possible
  • NAVI: traders who want to judge a token's risk and holders before they swap
  • Both: scout and snipe on Photon, vet anything you plan to hold on NAVI

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between NAVI and Photon?
Photon is a fast non-custodial Solana terminal for discovering, sniping and selling tokens quickly. NAVI is a Solana research app that checks a token's contract, holders and risk before you swap. Photon is built for speed; NAVI is built for the decision before the trade.
Is NAVI faster than Photon?
No. Photon is built around execution speed and sniping. NAVI does not snipe or trade for you: you sign each swap yourself after checking the token. If raw speed is the priority, Photon fits better.
Does NAVI charge more than Photon to swap?
NAVI takes 0.25% per swap, or 0.20% on Pro, shown in the quote before you confirm. Photon charges its own per-trade fee, so check Photon for current terms. Both charge the kind of per-swap fee terminals do, and with NAVI the quote comes with the rug check shown in the same place you swap.
Is Photon non-custodial?
Yes. Photon connects to your wallet to trade and does not take custody of your funds. That is the same model as NAVI, where you sign every transaction yourself.
