What is different about Robinhood Chain for a Solana trader?
Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum layer 2 run by Robinhood and built on Arbitrum. For a Solana memecoin trader the big changes are practical: a 0x address instead of a Solana address, ETH for gas instead of SOL, Pons instead of pump.fun, and token contracts that can carry rules Solana tokens cannot.
If you want the numbers side by side, our Robinhood Chain vs Solana vs Base comparison covers volume, fees and launchpads. This page is about adapting your routine.
What changes with wallets, gas and stablecoins?
The basics work differently:
- Address: your Robinhood Chain address is a 0x address, separate from your Solana address even inside the same Phantom wallet. Sending between the two by mistake is a common and costly error.
- Gas: fees are paid in ETH on Robinhood Chain. SOL cannot pay them, and neither can ETH sitting on Ethereum or another network.
- Fee shape: each transaction pays an L2 execution fee plus an L1 data fee for posting data to Ethereum. NAVI measured a median swap at about 0.0000039 ETH, roughly one US cent, on 30 September 2026. Robinhood Chain gas fees has the breakdown.
- Stablecoin: the main stablecoin is USDG from Paxos. There is no Circle-native USDC on the chain.
- Explorer: Robinhood Chain uses a Blockscout explorer at robinhoodchain.blockscout.com rather than Solscan.
Phantom covers both chains once you switch Robinhood Chain on under Active Networks. See add Robinhood Chain to Phantom.
Does speed work the same way on Robinhood Chain?
No. On Solana, memecoin traders add priority fees to get a transaction landed sooner. Robinhood's docs say Robinhood Chain orders transactions first come, first served by arrival at the sequencer, and that priority gas auctions do not exist. A higher gas price does not buy a better place in the queue.
Blocks are fast: about 101 milliseconds on average in Blockscout's stats when NAVI checked on 30 September 2026. The sequencer gives a quick soft confirmation, and hard finality follows once the batch is confirmed on Ethereum. Developers can find the rest of the technical differences in our Robinhood Chain RPC and developer guide.
How is Pons different from pump.fun?
Both are bonding-curve launchpads, so the shape of a launch will feel familiar: a fixed supply, a curve that sets the price, and graduation to a normal pool. The details differ:
- Graduation trigger: a pump.fun curve completes when its 793.1 million sellable tokens have been bought. A Pons V2 curve graduates when it has taken in 4.2 ETH, for ETH-quoted launches.
- Where liquidity goes: pump.fun migrates to a PumpSwap pool. Pons moves into a Uniswap v4 pool with the Pons hook, and the position is held by the Pons launch locker.
- Taxes: Pons V2 allows a creator tax of up to 10% and charges a 99% anti-bot tax on early buys, with an exemption list the creator controls.
- Quote assets: pump.fun curves are priced in SOL. Pons curves can be priced in ETH, USDG or a Robinhood Stock Token.
Bonding curve memecoin launches explains the curve maths for both, and Pons vs pump.fun compares them in depth.
Which risk checks change on an EVM chain?
This is the change that matters most. On Solana, the core contract checks are about authorities and liquidity:
- Mint authority: can more tokens be printed?
- Freeze authority: can your tokens be frozen?
- Liquidity: how much of the pool's liquidity is unlocked?
On Robinhood Chain, tokens are EVM smart contracts and the author can write almost any rule. The checks shift:
- Can you sell? Honeypot code can block sells for everyone except a few addresses. A sell simulation is the reliable test.
- What is the tax? Buy and sell taxes can be set, and sometimes raised by the owner after launch.
- What can the owner still do? Mint, blacklist, pause or change fees, unless ownership has been renounced.
- Can the code change? An upgradeable proxy can swap the rules behind the same address.
Holder concentration and copycat tickers matter on both chains. How to spot a honeypot on Robinhood Chain covers the EVM-specific signs, and the Solana rug check covers the Solana side.
Which NAVI tools carry over, and which are Solana-only?
NAVI covers both chains, but not yet with identical tools:
- Both chains: token pages with a risk level, charts and pools, holder concentration, trending lists and swaps from your own wallet.
- Robinhood Chain: a token scanner with a buy and sell simulation, a standalone honeypot checker, Pons bonding status and Robinhood Chain swap.
- Solana only, for now: bubble maps of linked wallets, the whale tracker, the wallet checker and alerts.
That gap matters. On Robinhood Chain, NAVI's holder check shows the top-10 share and the largest wallet, but it cannot yet join many small wallets into one owner, so a bundle spread across fresh wallets may not look concentrated.
How do you move funds from Solana to Robinhood Chain?
You need ETH on Robinhood Chain before you can trade there.
NAVI's Robinhood Chain bridge moves SOL or USDC from Solana to ETH or USDG on Robinhood Chain through Relay, from your own wallets, with the 0.25% NAVI fee shown first. Bridge Solana to Robinhood Chain walks through it step by step, and Robinhood Chain bridges compared covers the alternatives.
Withdrawing to Ethereum through the canonical Arbitrum bridge takes about 7 days because of the challenge period. Third-party bridges are faster but rely on different trust assumptions.
Which Solana habits still work on Robinhood Chain?
Most of the discipline carries over unchanged:
- Match the contract address in full, never the ticker.
- Check who holds the supply before you look at the chart.
- Compare your position with the pool's liquidity, because thin pools punish exits on any chain.
- Decide what you can lose before you buy, and treat a fresh launch as high risk until its checks say otherwise.
To start on NAVI, browse the Robinhood Chain trending list or trending on all chains, and run each token through the scanner before you trade.
NAVI is independent and not affiliated with Robinhood, Pons or pump.fun. pump.fun and Pons are both unavailable in the UK, Stock Tokens are information only on NAVI, and you should never use a VPN to get around a regional block. Not financial advice.
